The Williamson Memorial Hospital provides outpatient surgery services to patients.
A preadmission visit, may be ordered by the physician and will be coordinated with the Patient Registration Department prior to surgery. During this visit and the day prior to surgery, the patient is interviewed regarding their health status by a registered nurse and receives teaching and other instructions related to their surgery.
Blood work and other tests ordered by the physician, as well as the registration process, are completed at this time. This preparation assures the patient is prepared for surgery and reduces the time the patient spends in the Outpatient Surgery Center the day of their surgery.
