Department of Anesthesia Services
Comprised of experienced Anesthesiologists (MD) and Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), provides the full range of anesthesia services to patients. Anesthesia personnel provide on-call staffing to facilitate emergency situations.
Techniques of anesthesia utilized in the surgical and obstetrical suites include: monitored anesthesia care with or without sedation, regional anesthesia (spinal, epidural, IV regional, etc.), and general anesthesia.
Prior to surgery, a member of the department interviews the patient and reviews the hospital chart. Utilizing the latest in monitoring equipment and pharmacology, anesthesia is customized to the individual and procedure.
The Anesthesia Department provides consultation throughout Williamson Memorial in the areas of respiratory care, intravenous access, acute pain management, and conscious sedation.
